a little early for lent.
Last week as I was shivering out of the shower, Nick asked if I'd ever thought of doing a cleanse. I sort of had but not in a only-drink-water-with-weird-things-in-it kind of way. Turns out we were both feeling a little ... off, shall we say, and he was interested in cutting out a few things for a mere week. Well, it's day two of what I agreed to, or rather what I agreed not to do. Those things are no coffee, no booze, no meat and, gulp, no TV. As I suspected the no TV has been the hardest. TV is what I usually use to shut my brain off after work. It was my one of my New Year's resolutions to watch less TV (I should say watch less internet since we don't actually have a TV), which I've managed to do, however, a little extra effort never hurt. I'm sort of hoping this will also help with another one of my NY's resolutions, which was to get up between 7 and 7:30. I'm chronically late for work (though, since I get all my work done, no one seems to mind) but I'd really love to be a morning person. I'm hoping the lack of artificial TV light before bed and the real lack of caffeine will help me go to sleep earlier, which seems to be the root of my non-morning-person-ness. Now, I'm just hoping that the epic headache I had at 2 p.m. today won't be a daily occurrence.
