I borrowed The Help from my friend Heather recently because the movie totally appealed to me. The book ended up being so good that I couldn't put it down. I think I finished it in less than 36 hours which included a work day. It's a totally absorbing story told from the perspective of three different characters in a totally segregated Mississippi town in the 1960s. Suffice it to say this book has passion! Anyway, if you're looking for a great book to give or get this Christmas, this is a great pick. Just be prepared to not talk to your family if you are the recipient or the family member you give it to. You were warned.

Now, fingers crossed that the movie lives up to the book!
