small joys.*

1. Patrick, who is one of my favourite people in the universe, is visiting from Montreal. It's almost like he never moved away. His visit resulted in a weekend full of food and friends.

2. This cake, which is possibly the best cake I've ever had, was part of a 'cabin' reunion dinner last night with Patrick, his former roommates and some of the rest of the gang. It was so much fun to all be in the same place again. Bridget and Jacqueline were amazing hosts and Laura and David cooked a fantastic meal.

3. I knocked one thing off my summer list, making mint juleps. They're not perfected yet but when they are, you'll hear all about it here!

4. On Friday night a group of us went to Maenam for Maia's birthday. It was delicious and a fun last hurrah before Dom and Sean went back to Edmonton.

5. This week marked the first harvest from our garden. We had a salad and we picked mint for the mint juleps as well.
