twenties/thirties party.

This weekend our friend had a twenties/thirties themed party for her thirtieth birthday. I thought that it was such a cute idea for a thirtieth birthday! We had a lot of fun dressing up for the party and then I had fun documenting us with my favourite app: Instagram.

Life is busy this week which means not a lot of time for my beloved blog. For some reason though, there is always time to get distracted by the internet. Here are a few things distracting me this week:

girls' weekend.

This weekend was spent in Whistler with a group of girlfriends. We had a lot of fun: painting our toe nails, eating delicious food (I made pancakes, again), drinking wine, swimming in the lake and gossiping more than was probably good for us! It was a really nice way to recharge before a very busy week.

Last night I was feeling ever so slightly sorry for myself because I had a lot of freelance work to do after my day job. To make it feel a little less like a long, long work day, I bought myself some flowers and listened to the beginning of Yours, Mine and Ours until I was finished working and could turn my attention to the movie.

Yours, Mine and Ours was a movie I remember absolutely loving as a kid and thankfully in my mid-twenties it didn't disappoint. Though it was so sweet it could give you a cavity, there's something compelling and lovely about blending two large families. Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda make a cute pair with all of the adorable kiddies in their lives. I love watching old movies every once in a while and it's always rewarding when something you remembered loving doesn't dissapoint.

It's been a while since I've had a song obsession. Every once in a while I find a song that I just want to listen to on repeat until I know every word and melody, much to my roommates' chagrin. Past obsessions include 'Islands in the Stream' by the Constantines with Fiest and 'Window Seat' by Erykah Badu. I think I've found a new obsession in Jill Barber's 'Tell Me.' It's a sexy little song, with a sexy little video to go with it. It makes me want to wear winged eyeliner and go on a spy caper in Berlin. Not bad for a Wednesday!
